Rides for 2018

Some of the rides we are organising for 2018 listed below, some solid dates the rest are TBA within that month. Also included  some Sportifs that we will be participating in.

January, Saturday 13th

Dinner at Wongarbon Pub – 40k return

To celebrate (or commiserate) the latest sunset this summer, ride out and back 40k return, some dirt but doable on a road bike.

January, Friday 26th – Australia Day

Breakfast at Wambangalang field studies school – 60k return

starting at 6:30am from Wahroonga Park (supported).

March, Sunday 4th

Newcrest Challenge

Narromine Weekend – 60 – 70k per day, mixed terrain

Ride from Dubbo to Narromine on Saturday, overnight and return a different route on Sunday.

Mixed terrain, meaning half dirt roads, suiting MTBs and Gravel Bikes 60-70k per day. More information later as to support.

April, Weekend – 7th & 8th TBC

Canowindra weekend

Staying in Canowindra with day rides to Cowra for lunch at the Japanese Gardens on Saturday and Goolagong on Sunday.

May, weekend – 19th & 20th

Forbes Flatland Sportif – 70 or 120k Sportif

We will be staying Saturday night for a BBQ at our accommodation at the caravan park. There is a social ride on Saturday before the Sportif on Sunday. Could be a good one for SheRides girls looking to stretch themselves a bit. There is an event sag wagon but if there is enough interest we will have our own support vehicle and I will ride with you.

3 day tour Merriwa – mixed terrain

3 day tour starting and finishing in Merriwa, staying in Denman and Scone. Mixed terrain and including some of the Bicentennial National Trail. TBA on luggage transport.

October TBA

Midwest Tour – 6 day & 6 night – mixed terrain

Fully supported staying in Gulgong, Coolah, Coonabarabran, Tooraweenah, Dunedoo and finishing back in Gulgong.

There will be a guided tour of the Siding Springs Observatory (yes, we ride up there) with lunch at the Emu Farm that day.
